If you're not sure, it's easy to check which version of firmware you have:

  1. Turn on your TV and check it's tuned to the input your Blu-ray player is connected to, so if the player is connected to the HDMI 2 socket, choose HDMI 2 as the input.
  2. Turn on the Blu-ray player. If it starts to play a disc, press STOP and wait until you see the Sony Blu-ray screen on the TV screen.
  3. Press SYSTEM MENU on the remote control.
  4. In the "SYSTEM MENU" screen highlight Setup and select ENTER.
  5. Highlight Video Setup and select ENTER.
  6. Highlight TV Type and select ENTER.
  7. Press the BLUE button on the remote control.
  8. On the TV screen, the firmware version will be displayed - if the version number is 6.00 or higher, you already have the most recent firmware version.
